The Exciting Day


Welcome to the exciting day, week and months of planning one of the most special days of your life.


I was recently reminded how important the planning process is when a bride-to-be friend mentioned how wonderful her experience had been. She was enthusiastic about the things I was expecting her to say- trying on that fabulous dress, enjoying those delicious cake tastings, choosing that first dance song and attending all the fun parries in her honor. Yet, 1 was pleasantly surprised to wedding dresses hear that among all the decisions and details that had to be made (in addition to the anticipation of the big day itself), the most important part, to her, was the strong relationships she formed with her fiancé, family and friends who supported her. She was exactly right: While all those obvious to-dos help pull a wedding together, it's really that extra time you get to share with the important people in your life that's most special and memorable.


The moments I've shared with friends preparing to walk down the aisle- laughing while we tried on bridesmaid dresses, one too many wine dates brainstorming wedding "toast" ideas while wedding gowns reminiscing about funny stories, having great times at those crazy bachelorette patties in Austin, contemplating the never-ending hair debate (wear it up of down?) and many more that could fill a novel's worth of.


My advice to yon is this: Truce the experts and resources when it comes to the details— and enjoy the extra quality time and memories you'll make along the way with those closest to you.
